I found SimplyBe and Marisota, which I'd always seen advertised on TV, to have cumbersome layouts and small, limited photos of the garmets. I ended up ordering from Evans and LaRedoute, along with Brantanos for two pairs of shoes. Here a couple of my purchases:
Simple black pencil skirt, I love the high waist, and it was a bargain at £9. I looked at SO many of these before deciding on this one.
A red 36" tunic to continue my foray in to bright colours. Whenever I wear my bright red snuggie around the house I get compliments from my sister, so I guess red suits me!
A pair of black women's brouges and ankle boots. I resisted high heels because I've bought so many pairs in the past I never wear. I just love comfort too much. I might go crazy with some court shoes if I manage in the boots.
I've just had enough of hiding my shape in baggy jackets. It doesn't look good and it certainly doesn't make me feel confident. Reading the entries at fatshionista, along with a couple of other empowering blogs has encouraged me to accept and not feel ashamed of my shape. Joan Holloway is one of my style icons now. It's been so long since I bought new clothes - I can't wait for them to arrive!
To make the most of this new style, I want to keep myself better groomed. I often just resort to a boring old ponytail and let my hair get way too greasy inbetween washes out of laziness. I think if I map out the days I plan to wash my hair on my calendar, it'll help me keep track. I've also been watching hair styling turotials by http://www.youtube.com/user/lilithedarkmoon and http://www.youtube.com/user/LisaFreemontStreet so I can have some pretty retro buns up my sleeve. Or on my head.
That's all for now. Going to go look out my lint rollers and sewing kit.
